The Mermaid's Sister

In The Mermaid's Sister by Carrie Anne Noble, Clara's sister, Maren, is slowly becoming a mermaid. At first, her fingers become webbed and pale green scales appear just below her wrist. As time passes, her legs fuse together and she spends all of her time in the bathtub. But then she starts to shrink. Every day she shrinks a bit more growing smaller and smaller.
